Terms of Service

Last updated 27 September 2026

These terms govern buying, selling and carrying goods through Cratejet. Please read section 6 (escrow), section 8 (customs) and section 9 (traveller safety) closely — those carry the obligations that most often catch people out.

This document is a working draft prepared for review. It has not been checked by a qualified lawyer and should not be relied on as binding until it has been. The following still need to be filled in:

  • Full registered office address and CIN (sections 1 and 18)
  • Name of the licensed payment partner (section 6)
  • Governing law and courts (section 16)

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Cratejet is an online marketplace that connects people who want to buy goods from another country ("Buyers"), the shops and individuals who sell them ("Vendors"), and the travellers who carry them across borders ("Travellers"). Cratejet is operated by Zelicra Technologies Private Limited, a company incorporated in India with its registered office in Kochi, Kerala [FULL REGISTERED OFFICE ADDRESS AND CIN] ("Cratejet", "we", "us"). These terms form an agreement between you and Zelicra Technologies Private Limited.

By creating an account, publishing a listing, accepting a trip, or making a payment, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts. You must not be barred from using the service under the laws of your country, and you must not appear on any applicable sanctions list.

You may hold one account. Accounts are personal to you and must not be sold, shared or transferred.

3. Accounts and identity verification

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account and for keeping your password secure. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else has accessed your account.

Some activity — particularly carrying goods, selling at volume, or receiving payouts — requires identity verification. You may be asked for a government identity document, a selfie for liveness checking, and proof of a bank account. We may limit access to features until verification is complete.

We may refuse, suspend or reverse a verification decision where a document appears altered, does not match the account, or cannot be validated.

4. Cratejet is a venue, not a party to your transaction

Cratejet provides the marketplace, the escrow mechanism and the tools that support a transaction. The contract of sale is between the Buyer and the Vendor. The carriage arrangement is between the Buyer and the Traveller. Cratejet is not the seller, the importer, the exporter, the carrier, or the employer of any user.

We do not take title to any item, we do not inspect items before carriage, and we do not guarantee that a listing is accurate or that a user will perform their side of a deal. Ratings, trust scores and verification badges are signals, not warranties.

5. Listings and prohibited items

Listings must describe the item honestly, use your own photographs, and state the correct price, weight and condition. You must have the right to sell what you list.

You must not list, buy, or ask a Traveller to carry: weapons, ammunition or explosives; illegal drugs, controlled substances or drug paraphernalia; prescription medicines without lawful authority; live animals; human remains or biological samples; currency, bullion or bearer instruments; counterfeit or infringing goods; stolen goods; hazardous, flammable or radioactive materials; lithium batteries outside airline limits; tobacco, vapes or alcohol beyond personal allowances; obscene material; ivory, protected species or anything restricted under CITES; and anything whose import, export or possession is unlawful in either the origin or the destination country.

We may remove any listing and suspend any account where we believe this section has been broken.

6. Payments and escrow

Every order runs through escrow. When a Buyer checks out, the order is locked in escrow, and nothing is released to the Vendor or Traveller at that point.

Delivery is confirmed with a one-time code. The Buyer generates the code on the order page and gives it to the Vendor or Traveller at handover, who enters it to mark the order as delivered. Do not share the code before you have received and checked the item — entering it is treated as confirmation of delivery.

Confirming delivery does not release the funds. After delivery the Buyer releases the escrow to the Vendor or Traveller from the order page, which completes the order. If a dispute is raised before the funds are released, the escrow is frozen until the dispute is resolved under section 10.

No payment processor is connected yet. Until payments are enabled, checkout records an order as funded without charging a card or taking any other payment, and Cratejet does not collect, hold or transfer money for any order. Any amount users pay each other in the meantime is paid directly between them, outside Cratejet. Once payments are enabled they will be processed by a licensed payment partner, [PAYMENT PARTNER NAME], and we will not store your full card details.

7. Fees

Cratejet charges a platform fee of 5% of the item price on each order. The fee is charged to the Buyer on top of the item price and is shown at checkout before you confirm the order.

The Vendor or Traveller is paid the agreed price when the Buyer releases the escrow after delivery (see section 6). For a Traveller, the agreed price is the bid the Buyer accepted. Tax on your earnings is your own responsibility.

8. Customs, duties and import compliance

Cross-border movement of goods is regulated. You are responsible for complying with the customs and import rules of the destination country, including declaring goods correctly and paying any duty, tax or fee that falls due.

Any duty or landed-cost figure shown in the product is an estimate. It is not tax advice and it is not a guarantee of what a customs authority will charge.

You must never ask a Traveller to under-declare, mis-describe or conceal an item, and you must not present goods as personal effects where the destination country requires them to be declared otherwise.

9. Traveller safety and obligations

Never accept a sealed, wrapped or opaque package. You must be able to see and inspect what you are carrying, and you should keep the item in your own control at all times.

You are responsible for what is in your baggage when you cross a border. If an item does not match its listing, refuse it. Refusing a suspicious item will never count against your account.

You must comply with airline rules and baggage allowances, and you must not accept a carriage request that would be unlawful in either country.

10. Cancellations, disputes and refunds

A Buyer may cancel before a Vendor accepts, or before a Traveller collects, subject to the cancellation terms shown on the order.

If an item does not arrive, arrives damaged, or is materially different from its listing, raise a dispute from the order page before the funds are released. We may ask both sides for photographs, receipts and delivery evidence.

Where we hold funds in escrow we may decide how those funds are released between the parties. That decision is administrative — it is not arbitration, and it does not remove your right to pursue the other party through the courts.

Starting a chargeback instead of using the dispute process may lead to suspension while the chargeback is investigated.

11. Prohibited conduct

You must not: move payment or communication off-platform in order to avoid fees or escrow protection; misrepresent your identity; manipulate ratings or create fake accounts, listings or reviews; scrape, probe or attempt to break the security of the service; upload malicious code; harass, threaten or discriminate against another user; or use the service to launder money or finance criminal activity.

12. Your content

You keep ownership of the photographs and text you upload. You grant Cratejet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, resize and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service.

You confirm that you own or are licensed to use everything you upload and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

13. Suspension and termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, remove a listing, or withhold a payout where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these terms, a risk of fraud or harm, or a legal requirement to do so.

Closing an account does not cancel obligations already incurred, including delivering a paid order or resolving an open dispute.

14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, user or delivery will meet your expectations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cratejet is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of data, or loss arising from the acts or omissions of another user — including loss, theft, damage, seizure or delay of goods while in the custody of a Vendor or a Traveller.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the total fees you paid to Cratejet in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Cratejet against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your listings, your goods, your carriage of goods, your breach of these terms, or your breach of any customs, import or export law.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings locally.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Where a change materially affects your rights we will give notice in the product or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated terms.
